Christian Leaders Institute history began on September 11, 2001, after President Henry experienced the September 11, 2001, tragedy in person. Shortly after that, Rev. Henry Reyenga Jr. started Christian Leaders NFP under the encouragement of Rich DeVos Sr. and Ron Parr, who agreed to be part of the founding board of directors. The founding mission of Christian Leaders was to raise up reproducible Christian leaders to spread Christianity everywhere. Henry and his wife Pam committed themselves to this calling and work. 

 

In 2006, Christian Leaders went online and the free internet ministry training classes were launched. 

In 2010, Christian Leaders Institute spread throughout the English-speaking world. 

In 2012, the headquarters were established in Spring Lake, MI. This year saw about 10,000 new students. 

In 2014, the Alliance began and in 2015, the degree programs and the French program were launched. 

The Chinese & Spanish programs were launched in 2016, along with Vision Partner (student) donations, which raised over $400,000. Total student enrollment reached 175,000. 

In 2018, the Russian program began and in 2019, Christian Leaders College began as an application for USDE accreditation was accepted by the ABHE. Enrollment surpassed 250,000 students in 179 countries. 

2022 saw the launch of Soul Centers, a branch of the Alliance. Enrollment has now surpassed 500,000.
